Holding Them Back

Holding back your tears isn't as easy as it sounds.
Your eyes get fuzzy and they feel moist.
You blink and wipe the starting tendrils away,
Saying they are just watering.
But you know that the truth,
Lies behind the eyes.
You know that no matter how hard,
You try and stop them,
They will always come back.
They will always haunt you.
You can never escape the utter sorrow.
But as I write these words,
I know that when I say you,
I mean me.
The urge to rebel and lash out, threatens at your mind.
But suddenly the urge disappears.
Because you know it is useless.
You know that you are hopeless.
You know that you are under a control,
That you will never escape.
A control out of your hands.
And that makes the teardrops threaten at your lids.
And you say once again,
They are just watering.
You just want it all to go away.
You want to be happy,
Like you never were.
You want to smile like you make others do.
It is hard to keep on going,
When the one you love,
Is causing this pain.
And you think the last option,
Is death.
Are you right?
